My name is Nicole Foster, I am originally from Adelaide, Australia and am a Postdoctoral researcher in Environmental Science. I specialise in environmental DNA and using this to reconstruct long-term change in coastal marine environments. Understanding how ecosystems have changed in the past, the drivers of change and community response to climatic events, can assist our ability to predict how climate change will impact today’s marine environments.
Besides working with environmental DNA, I enjoy diving, surfing, swimming or basically anything to do with the outdoors or nature. I love having a career in science and try to inspire others to do the same. The life experiences I have gained through this career have been nothing short of amazing and I wanted to find a way to share these. This blog combines summaries of my research, and recounts my travel, field work and other experiences I get to have in science.
